Thank you John Owens for your Camera-Buyer Beware article in the January 2008 issue. Most of us gentle photographers are not ready for the barrage of coarse up-selling that can take place from the customer abuse departments of a few of the on-line camera sellers you describe. I had a worst-case scenario and was re-sold things that should have come in the camera bag—at three times the price. I reported the unfairness to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in New York. Within a few months I got a conference call with the vendor and the BBB on line at the same time! The vendor manager apologized to me and offered me some free merchandise. So, reader, listen to John! He’s right on!
