Blogger Brian Auer reminds us that a perfectly focused image isn’t always best. Leaving a little to the imagination can sometimes make a wonderful image. To demonstrate this he breaks unfocused images into categories, de-focused, mis-focused and soft focus.
De-focused images leave you with abstract images (like the one at left), mis-focused photos give you with something different than what you intended but still interesting (like the photo at right), and soft focus images (like the one below) show you almost everything and let your imagination fill in the blanks.
Brian goes on to explain that obtaining intentionally good out of focus images is not as easy as you would think, but they are worth the effort.
